The fuse board is where every circuit in your home starts, and where most faults show up. A modern consumer unit with an RCBO on each circuit cuts the power in a few milliseconds if something goes wrong, and only on the circuit that has the fault.

We test every circuit before we disconnect the old board, so we can tell you about anything we find before it becomes a surprise. The power is off for most of the day; we plan it with you.

Questions

Why RCBOs?

Each circuit gets its own protection, so a fault on the kettle turns off the kitchen sockets and nothing else.

Is my old fuse box dangerous?

Not always, but rewireable fuses and no RCD protection fall well short of today's standards. We'll test it and tell you honestly.
